Dear Dani,

I hope this letter finds you well.  Thanks so much for your time and for being interested in learning about Families Anonymous.  I am sure that with all of your experience and insight, you know how the horrible disease of drug and alcohol abuse and behavioral problems can tear apart the family.    FA has been instrumental in offering hope and teaching a better way to live for more than 30 years to countless parents, spouses, relatives and friends.

Attached you will find information as promised.  My hope is that every parent will be aware of the benefits and be willing to tell a family in crisis about this incredible 12-step program.  How I wish that the police officers, probation officers, friends, our school system and the court system had passed a brochure to us along the way about FA, when we didn’t know where to turn or what to do with our son a few years ago.

My husband, Ray, and I have gotten stronger through the help of our friends at FA.  We began our first meeting at FA simply because it was required of us from our son’s drug counselor.  He strongly encouraged us to attend at least six meetings.  By then, we were beginning to understand the hope and help that was being offered to us.  We knew we weren’t alone.  We would like to help others find the same hope.  Ray and I, or any number of other regular attendees of FA meetings would be willing to speak to your Westlake Parent Teacher Connection regarding the importance of trying to develop, maintain and live a healthier lifestyle, even if the ones we love choose not to change their destructive behavior.  We are not professional speakers, counselors or advisors – we simply speak from experience and from the heart.  Would you be interested in hosting an informational meeting?

Your desire and willingness to pass the word on, especially to the families with whom you come in contact, is inspiring to us.   The more everyone is aware of this tremendous program, the quicker recovery can begin for these families that are so torn apart. Your encouragement can certainly have a ripple effect.  Hopefully, stronger families will mean stronger communities. Since you said we could be linked to your website, that information is also attached.  This could be an awesome way to reach so many who are in such pain.

Dani, it will be a pleasure to work with you.  We appreciate any input you may have. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm. Joining forces can only be a good thing.  If you have any questions or insights, please feel free to contact me at 440-716-1795. I look forward to meeting you on Monday.

Sincerely,
